It is fair to say that Fingal Junior Tri Club is going from strength to strength. 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of the our club. Our new format which started 3 years ago of monthly 3 hour sessions is going very well. We are still meeting at the national sports complex under the coaching guidance of Gary Crossan and Elena Maslova. We have also opened the sesion to a teenager group (who train seperately) and we would like to extend our thanks for Jeremy Quinn and Tamara Maxatova for their support with endeavour.
Kids love the session and parents are delighted with the safe environment especially for cycling. We do not restrict the attendance to Fingal Members and have worked alongside Belpark and Pulse tri clubs to ensure that we don't overlap the training sessions so that kids can potentially go to all sessions should they wish.
It has been a great success to date and we hope to continue this work into 2020.
Our Triathlon for Juniors was held on the 11th of August with a 3 day summer camp run the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before hand. The summer camp was a huge sucess with the kids putting all they learnt into practise on race day. It must be noted that the funniest moment was every single child piling into the back of Gary's van to excape a massive downpour. Gary and Elena were our coaches for the camp. The race itself is going from strength to strength and we had record numbers of participants taking part.
We received very positive feedback from kids and parents alike and triathlon Ireland were pretty happy with us too!
Thanks to everyone who helped, coached, organised and supported our juniors throughout the year. The future is bright for Fingal Triathlon!!!
